Starting an Exam

There are multiple areas to begin an exam

  1. Patient Chart

  2. Exam section in the menu

  3. Appointment Modal

Exam Overview

When creating an exam from the patient profile or the exam section, you will have the opportunity to choose your exam template. If you start an exam from the appointment modal, the exam template will be based off of the appointment type selected.

The Exam view is split up into 3 different columns

  1. Left Column: Table of contents to help you navigate through each section. The main sections can be compressed or expanded.

  2. Center Column: Main Exam

  3. Right Column: Reference Data

    1. Patient demographics

    2. Rx History

    3. IOP History

    4. Intake History

    5. Previous Exams

    6. Referral Letters

Several features in the exam help create efficiency. Here are a few:

  • Mark as Normal: Located at the top of the page, this button will mark the entire exam with normative values

  • Copy Forward: You will be able to copy forward from a previous exam

  • Populate With: You can populate refraction values from the current exam or any previous exams. Below are the sections that have ‘Populate With’ Available

    • Autorefraction

    • Manifest Refraction

    • Final Glasses Rx

    • Contact Lens Trials and Rx

Final Contact Lens Prescription

In the event that an exam is closed out with a Contact Lens Prescription that has not been finalized, you will not be able to print that Rx for the patient. In order to print out he prescription you will need to do the following

  1. Navigate to the patient profile

  2. Create New Exam

    • Choose “Finalized Contact Lens Prescription” as your exam template
