In this article, you will learn how to configure recall defaults in Exam Templates, manage recall messages per patient, and use the Recall Messages view to track delivery status.
1. Access Recall Defaults in Exam Templates
Navigate to Exam Settings.
Select Exam Templates.
2. Navigate to Recall Defaults
Open the desired exam template.
Locate the Recall Defaults section at the bottom of the template.
3. Define Recall Message Duration and Appointment Type
In the Recall Defaults section, define:
The duration for sending recall messages.
The expected appointment type for patient bookings.
4. Edit Recall Defaults for Individual Patients
When working on a specific patient's Exam, the defaults from the template control the timing and appointment type of the recall message.
Edit these settings on a per-patient basis as needed.
5. Review Automatic Cancellation of Recall Messages
The system prepares recall messages approximately one hour before their scheduled send time.
Before sending, the system checks whether the defined appointment type has already been booked. If so, the recall message is automatically canceled.
6. Enable Additional Patient Recall Text Option
Navigate to Organization Settings.
Select the Communications tab.
Under Texting Automation, locate Send Additional Patient Recall Text.
Select the ⋯ menu and select Configure.
7. Configure Additional Recall Text Frequency
Set the frequency for sending recall messages:
Default is daily until the appointment is booked.
Adjust to every few days if preferred.
8. Use the Recall Messages View
Navigate to Communication > Recall.
By default, the view filters to Scheduled Messages.
Select Sent, Delivered, or other statuses to filter results.
Filter by date range as needed.
