In this article, you will learn how to use the Barti Communication Center, including 2-way texting, message scheduling, custom templates, and automated messages.

1. Use 2-Way Texting

  • Navigate to Communication > Messages to view all messages.

  • Filter messages by Read or Unread status.

  • Select a date range to narrow results.

  • Select a patient conversation to open their chat.

From inside the patient's chat, you can:

  • View chat history

  • Type and send a custom message

  • Select from a preset template

  • Add an emoji

  • Schedule a message

  • View scheduled messages

2. Schedule Messages

  • Navigate to Communication > Scheduled to view scheduled messages.

  • Update the date range to filter results.

  • Select the ⋯ menu next to a message to remove or edit it.

  • Select Schedule a Message to create a new scheduled message.

3. Manage Message Templates

  • Navigate to Communication > Templates to view your templates.

  • Edit or remove existing templates using the ⋯ menu.

  • Select Create Template to add a new template.

4. Review Automated Messages

Barti automatically sends the following messages to patients:

Appointment Confirmation — Sent when an online appointment request is approved:

Message From [Practice Name]: Your appointment has been confirmed for [Appointment Date] at [Appointment Time]. We look forward to seeing you.

Appointment reminder from [Practice Name]: We look forward to seeing you on [Appointment Date] at [Appointment Time]! If you need to reschedule or cancel, reply or call our office [Practice Phone Number].

  • If an appointment is scheduled within 1–2 days, the patient receives a 1-day reminder only.

  • If an appointment is scheduled 3 or more days out, the patient receives both the 3-day and 1-day reminders.

  • Reminders are sent at the same time of day as the appointment (1-day = 24 hours before; 3-day = 72 hours before).

If you have any questions, please refer to Barti's Help Center or create a support ticket at support.barti.com.
