What's on the home screen

Appointments

Today's scheduled appointments appear here automatically.

  • Providers see appointments assigned to them.

  • Staff members see all appointments for the day.

Exams

You can create a new exam or open an existing one directly from the home screen. Exams created here are automatically linked to the associated appointment and can also be accessed from the appointment record.

Notifications

Any item that requires action — SMS Messages, Appointments, Appt. Requests, Intake Forms, Orders Shipped — appears in the Notifications area. Click a notification to go directly to the relevant record.

Create New

Use the Create New shortcut to create the following without navigating away from the home screen:

  • Appointment

  • Text Message

  • Exam

  • Patient

  • Optical Order

  • Invoice

  • Insurance Claim

Task Manager

The Task Manager lives on the right side of the home screen. See How do I use Barti's Task Manager? for full details.

What you'll see when it works

The home screen loads with today's date and all appointments for the day already populated. Notifications show a count badge when there are items requiring action.

Troubleshooting

Why don't I see all appointments on my home screen?

If you're logged in as a provider, the home screen only shows appointments assigned to you. To see all appointments, click on the Staff Members dropdown and click 'Select All.'

Why is the Notifications area empty?

Notifications only appear when there's an action required. If you have no pending items, the area will be empty — that's expected.
