How do I schedule an appointment in Barti?

Create appointments directly from the Barti calendar. You can also create recurring blocks to reserve time on a regular basis, and set up your schedule to accept online bookings from patients.

Schedule an appointment

  1. Follow Appointments > Calendar, then click the New Appointment button, or click into the preferred slot on the calendar itself.

  2. Select the appointment type.

  3. Select the patient. Either create a new patient or search for an existing record.

  4. Assign a provider.

  5. Verify the location.

  6. Set the date, time, and duration.

  7. Click Create Appointment.

Create a recurring block

Use recurring blocks to reserve time on your calendar on a repeating basis — for example, a lunch break or a standing admin hour.

  1. In the same New Appointment window, toggle Recurring Event in the top right hand corner.

  2. Set the appointment/block type, start time, duration, and recurrence pattern.

  3. Click Create Event.

What you'll see when it works

The appointment appears on the calendar at the scheduled time and on the home screen under today's appointments (if scheduled for today). The assigned provider will see it in their view. Patient should receive an appointment confirmation text. Depending on how far in advance the appointment is made, a 1-day and 3-day reminder text will automatically be scheduled for the patient.

Troubleshooting

Can I reschedule or cancel an appointment after it's been created?

Yes, simply click on the appointment from the calendar and click Edit to change any of the appointment details, including date, time, appointment, and provider.

Can I schedule an appointment for a patient who isn't in Barti yet?

No, an appointment must be tied to a patient record. However, you can create a new patient record from the appointment screen by clicking on "+ Add New Patient" in the appointment creation window.
