How do I set up post-appointment texts in Barti?

Who this is for
Org admins who want Barti to automatically text patients after their visit — for example, to request a Google review.
Before you start
You need admin access to Organization Settings.
Your org must be on the new Text Automation.
Your staff need to consistently mark appointments as completed — this is the trigger for post-appointment texts.
Steps
1. Open the Post-Appointment configuration. Go to Org Settings → Communications → Text Automation and click the edit icon on the Post-Appointment row. The Configure Post-Appointment Texts modal opens.
2. Set the delay. Choose how long after appointment completed to send: 1, 2, 3, or 24 hours.
3. Choose a template. Select the template Barti sends. The default is the Google Review template; you can select any of your org templates.
4. Turn on the automation and save. Enable the Post-Appointment toggle so the automation is active.
What you'll see when it works
The Post-Appointment row shows your delay under When to Send and your selected template.
When staff mark an appointment as completed, Barti sends the post-appointment text after the delay you set.
A 1–3 hour delay targets same-day delivery while the visit is fresh; the 24-hour option sends the following day at the time the patient's visit was completed.
Troubleshooting
Why didn't a patient get a post-appointment text? Post-appointment texts are triggered when the appointment is marked completed. If the appointment isn't marked completed, the text won't send. Make sure your team consistently marks appointments completed.
Why is the trigger "completed" instead of the appointment end time? Patients often stay in the practice after the scheduled end (for example, choosing frames in optical), so completion status is a more reliable signal that the visit is actually over.
Can I use a template other than Google Review? Yes. Google Review is the default, but you can select any org template.
