Quick answer: In Organization Settings → VoIP, open a phone number's Call Routing section, add a Greeting and at least one Add Option menu choice routed to a Call Group or Voicemail, then toggle the Phone Tree to Active.
Who this is for: Barti administrators with access to Organization Settings. Phone Tree is a Premium VoIP capability and is enabled per organization.
Before you start, you'll need:
VoIP enabled for your organization, with at least one phone number set up
The Call Groups you want to route callers to, already created — see How do I create and manage Call Groups in Barti?
The wording for your greeting (it's read to callers using text-to-voice)
Steps
Open Organization Settings and select the VoIP tab.
Select the phone number you want to configure.
In the Call Routing section, find the Phone Tree card.
In the Greeting field, type the message callers hear when they reach the menu (for example, "Thank you for calling. For appointments, press 1. For billing, press 2."). Click Save.
Click Add Option to add a menu choice.
Under Press, choose the digit a caller presses for this option (0–9). Each digit can be used only once.
Under Destination, choose where the call goes:
Call Group — then select the specific Call Group that should receive the call.
Voicemail — sends the caller straight to voicemail.
Click Add. Repeat for each menu option.
When you've added a greeting and at least one option, toggle the Phone Tree switch to turn it Active.
To edit a menu option, click its row, update the Press digit or Destination, and click Save. To delete an option, open the ⋯ action menu on its row and choose Delete.
What you'll see when it works
The Phone Tree card shows an Active badge, and your menu options are listed by Option (digit) and Destination.
Callers to this number now hear your greeting and are routed to the matching Call Group or Voicemail when they press a key.
When the phone tree is Inactive, calls follow your standard ring behavior (all active users and phones ring).
Troubleshooting
Why can't I turn the phone tree on?
The Active toggle stays disabled until the phone tree has both a saved Greeting and at least one menu option. Add a greeting, add at least one Option, then try the toggle again.
Why doesn't a digit appear in the Press list?
Each digit (0–9) can be assigned to only one menu option. Digits already in use are hidden or unavailable when you add a new option. Edit or delete the existing option if you need to reuse that digit.
Can callers reach a voicemail instead of a person?
Yes. Set an option's Destination to Voicemail to send callers who press that key directly to voicemail.
What happens if a caller presses nothing, presses an invalid key
After 5-seconds of no-input or after 3 invalid entries the caller will be routed to all all active users/phones
What happens if the chosen call group is unavailable?
All active users/phones when a selected Call Group has no active members.
