How It Works
Your company has a unique Baton Referral Number that allows you to refer customers with a quick call or text. Whether you send them the number, transfer the call, or text them a direct link, Baton takes care of the rest.
1. Get Your Referral Number
Your company has been assigned a unique Baton Referral Number. If you do not have this number your Account Manager can send it to you, upon request. This number allows us to track calls coming from your team and ensure they are properly handled.
2. What to Say to the Customer
When a customer calls looking for a service you don’t provide or an area you don’t cover, simply direct them to the Baton Referral Number. You may use these suggested scripts as your guide:
Option 1: If the Customer Can Receive Texts
💬 "We don’t provide that service (or don’t cover that area), but does your phone receive texts?"
➡️ Yes? Great! I’ll send you a number to try. They should be able to help you out. Talk soon!
📩 Then, immediately text the customer:
"Give them a call at (___)___-____ —they should be able to assist you!"
Option 2: If the Customer Cannot Receive Texts
📞 "We don’t provide that service, but I have a great company that can help! Please call (___)___-____ and they’ll take care of you."
Option 3: Transfer the Call Directly
📞 "We don’t provide that service, but I can connect you with someone who can help."
➡️ “I’m going to transfer you now—please stay on the line.”
Then, transfer the call to (___)___-____. Hang up, and Baton will handle the rest!
3. What Happens Next?
✅ Baton will track that the referral came from your company.
✅ We’ll ask key questions to match the customer with the right service provider.
✅ They’ll be transferred directly to the best company that can assist them.
