Baton only sends exclusive, high-intent referrals from vetted companies in our trusted network. Every referral is qualified before it reaches you, so you can focus on booking real jobs — not sorting through junk leads.

1) Customer Consent Comes First 🤝

No referral enters Baton without the customer’s express consent. Whether it’s another vetted provider in the network or our Service Pros call center team, we confirm:

  • The customer understands they’ll be contacted by another provider

  • They agree to be referred

  • Contact information is accurate and complete

This meets Baton’s standards and federal TCPA one-to-one consent requirements.

2) Most Referrals Are Qualified by the Service Pros Team 🥇

  • Live call transfers: Most referred callers are connected to Baton’s Service Pros call center, where our team confirms the service need, location, and timing before forwarding the caller to the right provider.

  • Partner-qualified referrals: In some cases, other vetted companies qualify the customer themselves, confirm consent, and then submit the referral through Baton.

3) Matching to the Right Company 🧩

Matching happens before the referral is submitted — so the customer knows exactly who they’ll be speaking with.

The match is based on:

  • ZIP code coverage (your active Service Areas)

  • Service type requested

  • Residential vs. commercial

  • Bid competitiveness

  • Platform participation (are they actively referring leads?)

  • Customer experience (are they answering calls promptly, making sales, etc?)

  • Pledge to Protect status (if applicable)

Only companies that meet all criteria — and are in good standing — are eligible to receive the referral.

4) Validation Before Delivery 🔍

Baton verifies that the referral:

  • Matches a legitimate service request

  • Was submitted with proper consent

  • Is not a duplicate or already resolved

  • Can be connected to the best available vetted provider

5) If a Referral Doesn’t Meet Standards ⚠️

  • If you believe a referral is invalid, you can dispute it in My Referrals.

  • For accepted dispute reasons and the review process, see our Disputing a Referral article.

Bottom line:

Every Baton referral is exclusive, qualified, and matched to you before the customer is referred — protecting your time, budget, and reputation.
