Baton gives you full control over the exclusive, qualified referrals you receive. Whether you need to slow things down temporarily, focus on specific services, or align volume with staffing, you can manage your settings without losing your place in the trusted Baton network.
1) Set a Weekly or Monthly Budget 💰
Go to Payments > Configuration
Choose your budget period (weekly or monthly)
Enter a spend cap
Once your net spend (after credits) reaches this cap, referrals will pause until the next period or until you add funds.
Best for: Capping total spend while staying active and available.
2) Adjust Your Business Hours 🕒
Go to My Company > Services > Business Hours
Update the days and times you want to receive referrals
Referrals that arrive outside your set hours are not billable.
Best for: Seasonal changes, limited staff availability, or narrowing coverage to peak hours.
3) Refine or Pause Specific Service Areas 🗺
Go to My Company > Service Areas
Edit or remove Service Areas where you no longer want to receive referrals
You can re-enable or adjust these areas anytime
If you’re unsure how changes may affect your volume, reach out to your Account Manager for guidance.
Best for: Focusing on higher-value jobs or core service regions.
4) Fine-Tune Referral Sources 🔧
Go to My Company > Preferences
Use the Do not receive referrals from list to limit certain sources when they don’t fit your business needs
Our Account Managers can help you adjust sources strategically without limiting high-quality opportunities.
Best for: Customizing where your referrals originate to better match your goals.
5) Request a Temporary Pause ⏸️
For extended breaks — such as staff leave or a seasonal shutdown — you can ask us to temporarily pause your referrals:
Email client.success@batonleads.com or contact your Account Manager
We’ll place a hold on your account until you’re ready to start receiving referrals again
Best for: Avoiding volume during downtime without changing your core settings.
Tip: Before making big changes, connect with your Account Manager. They can help ensure your adjustments align with your budget, coverage, and bid strategy so you continue getting the right referrals at the right time.
