Keeping track of your financial activity on Baton is simple. Whether you’re monitoring charges for referrals you’ve received or tracking credits and payouts for referrals you’ve sent, your Payments section provides all the tools you need.

Payments Section Overview

From the left-hand menu in your Baton dashboard, click Payments. You’ll see five key tabs:

1. Transactions 💳

A detailed log of every event that affects your balance, including:

  • Leads sent and received

  • Lead refunds and credit reversals (when a buyer disputes a lead)

  • Payments made to your account

  • Payouts to your bank

  • Free referral credits and adjustments

Pro tip: Use the Export button to download a CSV for your accounting team.

2. Statements 📑

Think of this like a bank statement — not an invoice.

  • Shows your account balance at the beginning and end of each month

  • Includes all transaction details within that month

3. Invoices 📄

The official billing documents for your account.

  • Generated weekly, monthly, or whenever you run out of funds

  • Shows the exact charges billed to your card or formally requested for payment

4. Configuration 🛠️

Set your billing and budget preferences:

  • Budget amount & billing window (weekly, monthly, daily)

  • Preload charge rules (e.g., “Always top up to $500 in credits…”)

5. Pay 💵

Add or update your default payment method to avoid disruptions in service.

When You’re Charged

Your account is billed when you:

  • Reach your billing threshold, or

  • Hit the end of your billing cycle (weekly or monthly, depending on your settings)

Understanding Your Payouts

If you’ve sent referrals and earned credits, here’s what to know:

Timing: Processed monthly within the first 10 business days.

Method: Check or ACH via Melio (you’ll get an email to set this up).

Formula:

Credits Earned – Charges Incurred = Net Payout

Example: $1,500 credits earned – $1,000 charges = $500 payout.

Tax Forms:

  • A completed W-9 is required before any payout is sent.

  • Annual payouts are reported on a 1099-MISC.
