General settings
The general settings will affect the automation engine and the Pulse activities in all courses of the Moodle installation.
Detailed log
By default, the detailed log is disabled. It is recommended to enable this feature only for troubleshooting purposes and to keep it disabled on production sites. When enabled, it logs detailed user information for scheduled tasks in the PHP log on the web server.
Number of schedule count
This setting allows you to control the number of scheduled notifications sent by the automation during each cron run. By specifying a numerical value, you can manage the server load and reduce the risk of being flagged as spam.
Require confirmation
To require confirmation in the Pulse activity settings, the ‘Mark as complete options’ is disabled by default. When enabling this option in the global settings, require confirmation is enabled by default in the settings when creating a new Pulse activity. Existing Pulse activities will not be affected by changes made here.
Button Text
Pulse offers you five different options for the button text when confirmation is required: Mark as complete, Acknowledge, Confirm, Choose, and Approve. In the global settings, you can choose which button text is selected by default when creating a new Pulse activity.
It is possible to change the button text options via language customization.
Confirmation modal text
You can add text to the modal window that specifies what students confirm when they attempt to mark the Pulse activity as complete. In the global settings, you can define a default text that will automatically appear in the settings when creating a new Pulse activity.
This default text can be overwritten in the Pulse activity settings.
Limit users per task
This setting allows you to limit the number of users checked for Pulse activity availability during each cron run. If you find that the task is taking too long to complete, you can lower the number of users to be processed at once.
