You can create a Kickstart template directly from an existing course without manually exporting a backup file. This method automatically uses the course's current structure, settings, and content.
Step-by-step instructions
Open the course you want to use as a template.
Navigate to More > Kickstart using the course navigation bar.
Use the selector in the top left corner and choose Create template from course.
Configure the template settings – at minimum, you must set a title – and then save the template.
Note: The available template settings are the same as when creating a template from scratch, except the option to upload a course backup file is omitted. Kickstart automatically generates this file from the current course.
