Can I commute to my job from a long-distance?

We generally discourage long-distance travel. Our employers require a local address for hire and it's important for you to be close in case of emergency shift coverage. We recommend you live no more than 30-45 minutes away from your work location.

Sometimes BDV clients ask us if they can live in their sponsor location during the week and commute back to another city or state for the weekend or days off in order to see family. We highly discourage this because the nature of your Unskilled EB-3 job will require you to be flexible to work any shift and possibly work random days of the week. We recommend that if you have family living in another city and need to see them regularly, that you plan for your family to join you in your sponsor's location.
