How do I fill out my tax forms?

When you start your job, you will fill out a W-4 tax form. This lets the federal and state government know how much money to withhold from your taxes.

At the end of the calendar year or the beginning of the next year, you will receive a W-2 tax form. This form will include your total (gross) wages received, and you will need this to file your annual tax return. If you don't receive this W-2 in the mail, you can download it on your HR software provided by your sponsor. This will likely be the same site where you log your hours, your time off, and view your wages.

If you have questions about how to download your W-2, check with your supervisor or your sponsor's Human Resources Department.

The annual tax return begins in January each year when the Internal Revenue Service begins processing returns. All tax returns should be filed by April 15th each year.

You can file your annual tax return on your own by using a tax preparation software, or you can ask a tax professional or accountant for help.

Some tax prep services include:
- TurboTax
- H&R Block

- TaxAct

However, here's a short article that explains W-4 and W-2 tax forms.

And here is a short video with a good explanation of how to fill out a W-4 or change tax information.
