Under the EB-3 Unskilled Workers, one can obtain permanent residency or a green card in the United States. Once granted a green card, they are considered lawful permanent residents (LPRs) and can live and work indefinitely in the US. The initial green card typically grants a renewable validity period of 10 years.

As a permanent resident, individuals who hold the EB-3 unskilled visa and the accompanying green card become eligible to apply for US citizenship after residing in the US continuously for at least five years, among other requirements. This includes demonstrating good moral character, passing an English and civics test, and meeting any additional criteria set by US immigration laws. Upon successfully completing the naturalization process, they can become US citizens.

Therefore, the EB-3 Unskilled visa can indeed lead to permanent resident status (green card) and eventual eligibility for US citizenship after five years as a green card holder.
