As a community management platform, we prioritize features that promote safety and encourage member interactivity.

Subforums

Subforums is a feature that allows users to create separate post feeds for specific topics and groups. This allows users to organize information within their community and for members to easily access posts that are the most relevant to them.

Post Categories

Post categories act as filters that separate different types of content. This feature gives users more control over what they wish to see and allow them to quickly sort through their feed.

Iframe Embeds

Make your content more engaging with iframes! The Beam editor supports links from Youtube, Vimeo, Twitch, and more. Go to a new line and paste the iframe code of the content that you want to use, and your embed will become interactive once you've pasted the code.

Polls

Polls are an easy way to interact with your audience, get creative, and understand people’s opinions. It's one of our engagement solutions to let community managers find more ways to ask questions, create interesting conversations, and get people to share their opinions. Easily create your own poll and see the results instantly!

Pinned posts

A pinned post is a status update (or any kind of post) that you manually select to stay at the top of your community feed, meaning it will not slip down the feed as you continue to add other posts. You can only pin one post at a time, and it will stay at the top of your feed unless you unpin it or pin a different post.

User Mentions

Mentions are a way to directly notify users in a post or comment. Their main purpose is to get someone’s attention or show that you’re talking to them specifically.

Just type the @ symbol in the text box while composing a post or a comment. You’ll see an inline dropdown with a list of community members. The list of names will filter as you type more letters. Click to select a user at any time, or use the arrow keys to navigate with the keyboard.

Hashtags

Hashtags are used to categorize keywords on Beam.gg. This feature allows users to easily follow topics and join conversations they are interested in.

To use hashtags, simply put a number sign (#) before relevant keyword/s in your message. And that's it! Your content will be tagged, making it searchable for other users. Clicking or tapping on a "hashtagged" word will also show you other relevant posts.

Screenshot Mode

Flex your avatar frame, profile banner, and community statistics using Screenshot Mode on mobile! Simply go to your profile page and click the icon on the upper left side of the community banner to enter in screenshot mode.

Member Subscriptions

Monetize your community by enabling member subscriptions! Paid Member Subscriptions gives owners a way to earn from their platform through the support of their community. And in return, members will receive special access to exclusive subscriber perks that help make their community experience more fun and engaging.

Beam.gg helps you...

  • Charge members for a subscription

  • Offer paid content options

  • Paywall specific subforums

Community Analytics

Our analytics dashboard lets you monitor several metrics at once and get insights on what's happening around your community. We've designed this to help users track engagement efforts and uncover opportunities for improvement. We do this by monitoring metrics like retention rate, visitors per month, number of new posts, member information, etc.

Member Approval

Have you always wanted to keep your community exclusive? Now it's possible with our Member Approval feature! Enable restricted registrations and choose which members to accept or decline.

Post Approval

With Beam.gg's Content Approval feature, admins and moderators can review all pending posts, and decide whether or not they should appear on the community feed. Enable restricted submissions to start moderating member content!

Member Reports

To help maintain a safe environment for everyone in the community, we've created member reports. Member reports allow users to report content that violate community guidelines. Activities and messages that are not tolerated on Beam.gg communities include:

  • Spam messages

  • Misleading information

  • Offensive content (racism, etc.)

  • Harassment

  • Distributing viruses

  • Pornographic content

Audit Logs

Audit logs are an excellent moderation tool offered by Beam.gg. It's basically a list of all the moderation actions taken on your community. More specifically, you'll see:

  • The name of the admin or moderator who did the action

  • The action taken against members or posts

  • The date and time when the action was taken

Word Filter

Word filter is a moderation feature that filters out specific words from posts and comments within the community site. Simply add the words that you want to be removed from user content, and our program will automatically replace those words with asterisks in a sentence. (ex. Do you know what a ***** is?)

Member Roles

Beam.gg allows community owners to assign admin and moderator roles to specific members. Admins and moderators have access to powerful moderation tools that allow them to keep the community safe and engaging.
