Most Canadian benefits plans will allow your dependent children to maintain their coverage until their 21st birthday. (Some plans may cover them until age 22 or other - please check your own booklet or contract for your plan's specifics).

However, if your dependent child is a full-time student at an eligible educational institution, they are able to maintain their coverage until age 25 (or 26, depending on the policy), as long as they're still in school full-time.

Please submit proof of their full-time student status to maintain coverage. You can submit to service@beneplan.ca or to your benefits plan administrator.

Dependent children generally include your natural, biological children, legally adopted children, or children of whom you have been designated legal guardian.

Your child may be eligible to continue their benefits under your plan past age 25 if they submit proof that they have a permanent disability. Please check your policy or contact your insurer for more details.
