Green Shield's New Plan Sponsor/Administrator Line

Green Shield has added a new service exclusively for Plan Sponsors and Administrators in order to cut wait times and serve you better.

Starting April 1, 2019, Green Shield Canada (GSC) is introducing a brand-new way for you to connect with us. We’re launching the Plan Sponsor Claim Inquiry Line to make it easier for you to interact with us for claims questions on behalf of your plan members.  

That’s right – if you as a plan sponsor have a claim question on behalf of a plan member, you can contact a claim specialist directly!    

Call 1.833.739.4036 or email plansponsorclaiminquiry@greenshield.ca.

Both the Plan Sponsor Claim Inquiry Line dedicated phone line and mailbox will be staffed by a dedicated team of trained agents. As claim experts, they can answer routine questions, research more complex issues, and arrange for claim reprocessing when necessary.

What happens when you call?
You’ll hear an automated message then will reach an agent quickly. Be sure to have the plan member’s GSC ID number, name, and date of birth handy when you call, as you’ll be asked to provide this information.  

What should you include if you email?  
You’ll want to include the plan member’s GSC ID number, name, and date of birth along with details about the claim in question. And be sure to indicate your contact information so the agent can confirm you have permission to discuss the claim on behalf of the plan member.  

Don’t worry, your client service representative is still involved  
Your client service representative (CSR) will still be involved when they need to be. The agent may need to consult with your CSR or escalate certain inquiries to them. If you approve an exception to pay a claim for a plan member, your CSR will work with you on that. We are one team, and we are working together to serve you better!        

Protecting the privacy of plan members  
When you call or email the Plan Sponsor Claim Inquiry Line, you’ll be asked to provide some information so that the agent can confirm you have permission to discuss the claim on behalf of the plan member. We have practices in place to ensure no unauthorized person is able to violate your plan members’ privacy.
