If anyone with an OHIP card is wondering if their health symptoms may be COVID-19 (the novel Coronavirus), our partners at Maple have provided a free service within the app.

Download the Maple app for iPhone or Android and create an account for free.

Update your information to include your OHIP number and any dependents.

You can also choose to link it to your Dot Health account for medical records.

Then, click on 'See a Doctor' at the bottom and click on the first option, COVID-19 screening, to get assessed through your smartphone. They will connect you to a doctor to do a video call, text, or voice call, within a few hours.

You can also see other health care practitioners within the app, such as a General Practitioner (Family Doctor), ER Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, Dermatologists, Naturopaths, Psychologists, and many more. The practitioners update depending on your province of residence.

There is a cost to seeing other types of physicians. To cover this cost, you can either add your credit card to the app and pay out-of-pocket, or talk to your benefit plan administrator about adding coverage to your group benefits / group insurance plan. For a limited time, Shopper's Drug Mart is covering the cost of GP visits until March 23, 2020.

Here's a quick demo of how the app works.
