Its time to free your wallet and use your digital GreenShield GSC ID card!
Please note as of February 1st, 2024, Beneplan and GreenShield (GSC) will be moving to digital cards. New and replacement GSC ID cards will no longer be issued and will only be accessible digitally.
Going digital is easy and convenient! It also helps the planet by reducing plastics & paper! It’s also more convenient, as plan members don’t have to worry about lost or stolen plastic/paper cards. Use the GSC everywhere app to access your GSC digital ID card, anytime, anywhere. The app is available on your mobile phone, for Android via the Google play store and for IOS via the Apple App store.
Additionally, plan members can conveniently submit their claim(s) online via the app and get reimbursed significantly quicker (3-5 business days assuming you have submitted appropriate claims documentation and banking information for direct deposit), compared to traditional methods (claim reimbursement cheque sent to you in the mail which can take up to 3-5 weeks).
Do plan members currently using physical cards need to upgrade to digital now, or only when they need a replacement card?
· No change to current cards already issued – they are still valid.
· If plan members need a replacement card, they will now use the digital card on their phone app.
· If plan members don’t have access to an email address, a computer, or a mobile phone, please contact your employer’s benefits plan administrator. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Beneplan-GreenShield plan members will receive their GSC ID number via a welcome email after their group benefits enrollment is complete. All you need to get started with the GSC everywhere app is register for GSC everywhere using the GSC ID number. Then, use those same login details to sign into the phone app.
