Crop Ratios and Rotation

To crop a photo:

  1. Hover over the image

  2. In the ellipses, select Edit Image

  3. Select the desired crop ratio

  4. Drag crop box as desired

  5. To cancel the crop, click Remove Crop

  6. Save your changes

Crop Ratios:

  • 16:9 - Used for full bleed images that take the full width of the article

  • 4:3 - Taller than 16:9 but also used for full bleed images that take the full width of the article

  • 1:1 - Square images used commonly for social media. Used when aligned left or right

  • 2:3 - Portrait images used when aligned left or right

  • 32:15 - Used for full bleed images longer such as Hero Images or Special Feature Images

  • Custom - Free cropping

Rotating an image:

This functionality is not available in Bertie. If an image appears of the wrong orientation, try uploading it once again. Please reach out to your editor if the issue persists.ย
