Readers are able to follow you by clicking on the "Follow" button on your stories. When they follow you, they get a roundup of your stories (and stories from other authors they follow) in a weekly newsletter. The newsletter is sent every Thursday. Follower count lets you know how many readers are currently following you. The count represents total active followers -- when a reader unfollows you, it is automatically removed from the count.
