When a nonprofit signs up using your referral link or code, you’ll earn 30% of the contributions made by donors to support Better Giving - for the next 3 years.
Better Giving doesn’t charge fees. Instead, donors can choose to support our platform directly during checkout. These donor contributions average around 5% of each donation.
So if a nonprofit receives $100,000 in online donations, donors typically contribute about $5,000 to Better Giving, and you’d earn $1,500 from that.

What counts as a “donor contribution”?
What counts as a “donor contribution”?
Better Giving doesn’t charge nonprofits fees. Instead, when a donor gives, they’re invited to add an optional contribution to support Better Giving itself.
These donor contributions are how we keep the platform free, and they average about 5% of each donation.
As a referrer, you earn 30% of those contributions for any nonprofit you help bring to the platform.
Does this affect the amount nonprofits receive?
Does this affect the amount nonprofits receive?
No. Nonprofits still receive 100% of the donations being sent (less external processing fees if applied). The referrer fees are only taken from any donations the donor makes to Better Giving to keep the main platform free for nonprofits.
What If a nonprofit forgets to use my link or code?
What If a nonprofit forgets to use my link or code?
We’ve got you covered:
If they clicked your referral link within the last 90 days (on the same browser/device), we automatically track the referral using a cookie.
If not, they can manually enter your referral code during signup.
If they’ve already signed up, they can reach out to us and we’ll help apply the referral credit.
Better Giving uses a first-click attribution model - meaning the first referrer gets credit, even if others send links later.
When and how will I get paid?
When and how will I get paid?
Payouts happen monthly with a minimum payout level of $50, and are based on donor contributions processed for your referred nonprofits.
You’ll need to complete a W-9 (US) or W-8BEN (non-US) before your first payout.
A 1099-MISC will be issued for U.S.-based referrers earning $600+ annually.
