Tax Form Requirements for Referrers

When signing up as a referrer, you'll need to complete the appropriate tax form based on your residency status. This helps us comply with tax reporting requirements.

Which Form Do I Need?

U.S. Residents

Complete Form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number)

  • Use this if you're a U.S. citizen, resident alien, or U.S. entity

  • Provides your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN)

  • Used for domestic tax reporting purposes

Non-U.S. Residents

Complete Form W-8BEN (Certificate of Foreign Status)

  • Use this if you're a foreign individual (non-U.S. person)

  • Establishes your foreign status for tax purposes

  • May help reduce or eliminate withholding taxes on payments

Getting Started

  1. Determine your status - Are you a U.S. resident for tax purposes?

  2. Download the correct form - W-9 for U.S. residents, W-8BEN for non-U.S. residents

  3. Complete all required fields - Incomplete forms may delay your referrer approval

  4. Submit the form - Upload through your referrer dashboard or email as instructed
