Better Giving provides its services free of charge to nonprofits.

As a 501c3 charity, it relies on donations itself to keep those services free.

During the donation flow, a donor is asked on the donation form if they wish to donate to Better Giving.

For nonprofits that do not want this to appear in the donation flow, they can disable this donation option, and instead, Better Giving applies a flat rate 2.9% fee on each donation.
