Steps to Connect an App to Apple Health
1. Open the Apple Health App
First, make sure that the Apple Health app is installed on your iPhone (it’s a built-in app on iPhones with iOS 8 and later).
Open the Apple Health app from your home screen.
2. Go to the "Sources" Section
In the Apple Health app, tap on the Profile icon (usually at the top right).
Under your profile, scroll down and tap "Apps" under the Privacy section. This will show you all the apps that have permission to share data with Apple Health.
3. Find the App You Want to Connect
Scroll down through the list of apps, or tap "Health Data" at the bottom to filter by specific types of data (e.g., steps, workouts, heart rate, etc.).
Select the app that you want to connect to Apple Health. If the app is installed on your iPhone, it will show up here.
4. Enable Data Syncing (Allow Permissions)
Tap on the app you want to connect.
You’ll see a screen with a list of data categories (e.g., steps, workouts, calories, heart rate) that the app can share with Apple Health.
Enable the categories you want to sync by toggling them on. This will allow the app to send data to Apple Health.
Some apps may also allow you to choose whether to read or write data to Apple Health. Make sure both options are enabled if you want full integration.
5. Sync Data
After enabling the permissions, the app will start syncing data with Apple Health.
You can check the Apple Health app to confirm that data is being imported by looking in the "Health Data" section of the app.
Connecting Specific Apps to Apple Health
Fitbit:
Fitbit doesn’t have a native integration with Apple Health, but you can use a third-party app like FitToFit or Health Mate to sync Fitbit data to Apple Health.
Alternatively, sync Fitbit data via the Google Fit app using Health Sync as a middleman, and then use another app like Google Fit Sync for Health to sync that data to Apple Health.
Garmin:
Garmin Connect does not have direct integration with Apple Health, but you can use apps like HealthFit or RunGap to sync Garmin data to Apple Health.
