If you're seeing these cards ⬆,

it means you need to enable your location services to allow BetterYou to collect your sleep data.

To enable location services for iOS, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings and navigate to the Apps page located at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Scroll down and select BetterYou from your list of apps.

  3. On the BetterYou Permissions screen, tap on the "Location" section.

  4. Tap on Always and toggle Precise Location 'ON'.

Once you've completed these steps, the "Enable Location Services" message should disappear.

BetterYou requires the app to run in the background to provide you with a seamless experience. By allowing BetterYou to operate in the background, we can access important data and services even when you're not actively using the app. This enables us to:

  • Location Services: Automatically log data using Geofencing to accurately determine your location.

  • Data Collection: Gather insights on your interactions, preferences, and behaviors for analytics and targeted advertising.

  • Notifications and Updates: Deliver timely notifications or updates based on your activity and location, ensuring the app remains relevant to your needs.

  • Continuous Connectivity: Maintain an internet connection that allows for real-time data processing and communication.

How do location services help BetterYou monitor your sleep?

Location services help BetterYou monitor your sleep by tracking when you pick up your phone, which typically occurs during the moments before you go to sleep or right after you wake up. By requiring users to enable location services, the app can gather data on these pickups, using them as indicators that you’re awake.

The algorithm then analyzes this pickup data to define your sleep window more accurately. Essentially, if you pick up your phone during the night, it’s likely a sign you’re not asleep, allowing BetterYou to refine its understanding of your sleep patterns and provide more tailored insights.
