Accepting an offer on Bikeflip means agreeing to sell your bike at the buyer’s proposed price. Once you accept, the buyer can proceed with the purchase, and the funds will be securely held until the transaction is finalized. This ensures both parties have peace of mind and a smooth experience throughout the process.
1. Receiving and accessing the offer
Notification Arrival
When a buyer makes an offer on your bike, you’ll see a new message notification both on Bikeflip and, if enabled, via email.
Accessing the Offer
Click your profile icon > Messages to open your inbox.
Select the conversation related to the bike listing with the new offer to review its details.
2. Reviewing the offer and considering your options
Inside the chat thread, the buyer’s proposed price will be clearly displayed. Take a moment to assess whether the amount meets your expectations.
Accepting the offer
If you’re satisfied with the buyer’s proposal, click Accept Offer. A confirmation prompt will appear - double-check the price, and if it’s correct, click Accept Offer again to finalize. The status under the bike’s price will update to confirm you’ve agreed.
Making a Counteroffer
If the initial offer isn’t quite what you had in mind, you can propose a new price by selecting Make an Offer directly from the chat. Enter your desired amount and submit it. The buyer will be notified and can choose to proceed to checkout at that price, make a counteroffer, or simply walk away from the negotiation.
3. After accepting or counteroffering
Status Update
Once you accept an offer or send a counteroffer, the status beneath the bike’s price turns green, confirming the current agreed price (or your proposed counteroffer).
Buyer’s Response
If you accepted the buyer’s original offer, the buyer will now see a Buy button and can finalize the purchase.
If you made a counteroffer, the buyer can either accept your new price by clicking Buy or propose a different amount by selecting Make an offer again.
4. Secure Payment and 48-Hour Window
Buyer Protection
Throughout the entire process, the payment remains securely held thanks to Bikeflip’s Buyer Protection, ensuring a safe and reliable transaction for both parties.
48-Hour Window Period
Once the buyer has completed the payment, you have 48 hours to accept or decline the purchase request.
If you accept, the sale moves forward. Otherwise, the amount paid will be refunded to the buyer.
5. Finalizing the transaction
Acceptance of the Buying Request
When you're ready to proceed, accept the purchase request to confirm the sale. This action confirms your commitment to the transaction and allows the shipping process to begin.
Rejection of the Purchase Request
If you do not wish to complete the sale, you can either reject the request or simply let the 48-hour period expire.
Once the sale is confirmed, Bikeflip will initiate the shipping process.
6. Shipment and delivery
