Selling with Bikeflip is easy: this guide walks you through the process from purchase request to shipping your component.
1. Receiving a new purchase request
Notification Arrival
When a buyer sends a purchase request, you’ll be notified both on Bikeflip and via email. A red dot on your profile icon (top-right corner of the homepage) indicates new notifications.
Accessing the Request
Click your profile icon > Notifications to find the new request.
Select the New Buying Request notification to go directly to that article’s details in Purchases & Sales.
2. Reviewing and responding to the request
Once you’ve opened the request, you can review its details and choose how to respond:
Accepting or Declining
Click Accept request to proceed and secure the buyer’s funds in escrow.
Alternatively, select Decline request if you do not wish to proceed.
Response Time
You have 48 hours to respond to the request. If no action is taken within this timeframe, the funds will be returned to the buyer, and the request will expire.
3. Selecting a drop-off date
Choosing a Date and Time
Once the drop-off location is assigned, you’ll be prompted to select a date when you plan to deliver the package to the drop-off point. Selecting a drop-off date ensures the buyer knows when to expect the shipment and keeps the process organized.
4. Providing the pickup address
Shipping Details
To finalize the process, you’ll need to enter the full address from where the component will be shipped. Based on this information, Bikeflip will choose the appropriate logistic partner and assign a drop-off point close to you.
5. Confirming the purchase
Final Review
After selecting the drop-off date, Bikeflip will display a summary of all the details you’ve entered, including the drop-off date and location.
Confirmation
Click Confirm buying request to finalize your acceptance. This step secures the buyer’s funds in escrow and triggers the next steps in the process.
6. Preparing and dropping off the package
Receiving the Shipping Label
Once the request is confirmed, Bikeflip will email you the shipping label. Print two copies of the label and securely attach them to both sides of the package.
Preparing the Package
Ensure the packaging is sturdy and protects the component from potential damage during transit.
Dropping Off Your Package
On the selected date, take the package to the assigned drop-off location. You’ll find the exact location details in your confirmation email.
7. What happens after confirmation
Shipping Process
Once you’ve dropped off your package, the shipping partner will transport it to the buyer. You can track the shipment using the provided tracking number.
Payment Release
After the buyer receives the component and approves it, the escrowed funds will be released to you.
Dispute Resolution
If the buyer reports any issues, Bikeflip will step in to mediate and ensure a fair resolution.
