The label page can be found as a sub page to project settings in the left navigation menu.

The new item actions can be found on the top right of the page.

New label
With the label tab active, If you click on the "New label" button the Add labels menu will appear.
Color
Choose the color of the new label
Group
Choose the group of the new label (optional)
If your group does not exist yet you can write your desired group in the set label group dropdown and click on create <group name>
You can also make and edit groups in the groups tab.

Import multiple
Copy a table with up to three columns from Excel.
Each row corresponds to a labels name, group, and color.

Pasting in the following from excel will result in:
Note: If you do not specify a color to the labels they will get the color specified in the color dropdown.
Labels will be separated on "comma" or "newline".
Group names per label will be split on "tab", "colon", "semi-colon" or "pipe".
The labels are written as name:groupname:color.

A third argument may specify a hex color.

Groups and colors are optional. Set a default to overwrite blank spaces.
Error
If there is an error with a label it will show up as red.
Hover over the label to see what is causing the error.
This could be:
The label already exists in the project.
Label names have to be unique. If a label already exists in the project or if you are trying to add a label twice you will have to rename it.
Creating new groups
If the groups do not exist in the project yet you will be asked if you want to create the appropriate new groups or if you would like to discard them.
Keep open on submit
If you check this checkbox a new add labels menu will be opened right after submitting a label. If you would like to create more than three labels manually through this menu this option will save you time since you will not have to click on the new label button every time. If you are making one or two labels it is just as fast to click the new label button.

With the group tab active, If you click on the "New group" button the Add label group menu will appear.

If you check this checkbox a new add label group menu will be opened right after submitting a label group. Right menu in the labels tab
If any label rows are selected in the models table, an info button appears to the right of the search or filter bar.
The info button can look something like this:
Name
With a single label selected, edit the name of the label by clicking on the pencil icon.
Color
With one or more labels selected, edit the color to update the color of al selected labels at once.
Group
With one or more labels slected, set the label group to update all selected labels to be part of that group.

With a single label group selected, edit the name of a label group by clicking on the pencil.
Labels table and groups table
As soon as a label or label group is created it will show up as a row in the labels or lable group tables.

Selected item actions
After selecting a label or group row selected item actions appear towards the top of the labels or group tables.

Merge
When two or more label rows are selected the merge action can be used.
If the merge action is used the merge dialogue will open up.
Select which label the other label(s) should be merged into and confirm.
Access required - Administrator
Delete
When the delete action is clicked the delete labels or label groups dialogue opens up.
If any of the selected labels or label groups are applied to an element a warning will be displayed asking you to confirm that you want to delete the label.
Deleted labels cannot be restored.
Columns in the labels tab
Some columns in the labels table are enabled by default while others can be hidden and have to be enabled.
Based on the configured column order the first columns are displayed while the table might have to be scrolled sideways to show other enabled columns.
The default order and visibility setting of the columns on the labels table is as follows:

Topics - Default - Any topics the label is applied to |
For each meta-status open, closed and candidate the amount of topics that this label has been applied to are displayed. Click on the meta-status to filter view all topics with this meta-status and this label in the all topics topic board. |
Documents - Default - Any documents the label is applied to |
The amount of documents this label has been applied to is displayed. Click on documents to filter the documents page for all documents that this lable has been applied to. |
Columns in the groups tab
Some columns in the label groups table are enabled by default while others can be hidden and have to be enabled.
