Credits and billing

Written by Arman Vardanyan

Credits are how usage is measured in Binee. Your balance, plan, usage history, and per-member usage live in Settings, then Billing & Usage (visible to workspace owners and admins).

What costs what

  • Chat messages: 0.55 to 2 credits each, depending on how much work the message takes. Quick answers cost the least; messages that fan out across several tools, include attachments, or perform actions cost more.

  • Insight firings: a flat 1.3 credits per firing (the matching step that watches your activity is free). An automation with an approved action step additionally uses 1 credit per completed action, at most 3 per firing. Your daily budget caps how many paid firings can happen per day.

  • ClickUp Setup: analyze costs 2 credits, each setup chat message costs 2 credits, and the build fee is 0.5 credits per list plus 0.5 per doc (minimum 5), previewed exactly before you confirm and refunded automatically if the build fails outright. Generating the plan is priced by the size of the draft structure: 5 credits up to 5 spaces and 20 lists, 10 credits up to 10 spaces and 40 lists, and 20 credits above that. The exact charge is shown next to Generate Structure before you click, computed from the draft you and Binee agreed on in chat, so a solo consultant's 3-space draft pays 5 credits while an agency's 12-space, 50-list draft pays 20.

  • Dashboards: opening a dashboard is free (it reads already-synced data), and so is every filter, range, and shape change. A dashboard refresh, which recomputes the created cards and writes the Pulse, costs 0.5 credits, and when its gathering is heavy (several live tools, long histories) it is priced like the chat message it replaces, so it can reach the chat tiers above. See the Dashboards page of this guide.

  • Questions about Binee itself (how features work, where settings live, billing questions): free.

An automation someone built or transferred for you spends your own daily budget once you approve it, and draws on the workspace's shared credits like any other automation. The person who built it is not charged.

Launch bonus: 2x credits in your first month

While the launch promo runs, every new account starts with 2x credits for its first month:

  • New free workspaces start with 50 credits instead of 25. From the first monthly refresh onward, the free allowance is the normal 25.

  • New subscriptions (monthly or annual, any size) get 2x their plan's credits in the first month. From month two, the plan's normal monthly allowance applies. Renewals are never multiplied.

  • The bonus applies when the account or subscription starts, and covers that first month only. Pay-as-you-go credit packs are not part of the promo.

If you are deciding when to subscribe, subscribing while the launch bonus runs means your first paid month arrives with 2x the credits, so it is a good moment to start a plan. On the billing page, a first-month balance can show higher than the pool it resets to (for example 50 of a 25 pool on the free plan); that is the bonus, not an error.

Free tier

The free plan includes every Binee feature: chat, insights, automations, and ClickUp Setup all work exactly as they do on paid plans, with nothing separate to buy. The only difference is the credit allowance. Every free workspace gets 25 credits that reset every 30 days. Unused free credits do not carry over. During the launch promo, brand-new free workspaces start their first month with 50 credits (see the launch bonus section above). For example, a free workspace can connect its tools and ask Binee to flag it when a task delay breaks a date promised to a client by email; the 25 monthly credits simply cap how many of those answers and insight firings fit in a month.

Paid plans

Each workspace has its own plan and its own credit balance; switching workspaces switches which balance you are spending. Plans are monthly credit allowances shared across all members of that workspace, priced at $0.12 per credit: 100, 150, 250, 500, 750, 1000, or 2000 credits per month. Annual billing saves about 10 percent. Monthly plan credits reset each cycle. During the launch promo, a new subscription's first month comes with 2x the plan's credits (see the launch bonus section above).

Pay-as-you-go credits

You can buy extra credits at any time at $0.14 per credit. Pay-as-you-go credits never expire and are used after your monthly allowance runs out.

Running out of credits

Binee pauses paid actions honestly instead of failing quietly: chat replies and new insight firings stop until your credits renew or you add more. Nothing is deleted, and everything resumes as soon as the balance is back to at least 1 credit. Low-balance warning emails are on by default (Settings, then Notifications, in the System emails section).

Managing your plan

In Settings, then Billing & Usage you can upgrade or change plans, buy pay-as-you-go top-ups, open the Stripe billing portal for invoices and payment methods, and cancel your plan. The billing portal (Manage, then Edit billing info or Invoices & payments) is available after your first purchase of any kind, plan or pay-as-you-go, whether or not a plan is currently active. Accounts whose only purchase was the former one-time ClickUp Setup bundle have portal access too.

The credits card shows your monthly pool ("Monthly credits remaining" on a plan, "Free monthly credits" otherwise) with its reset date, your pay-as-you-go credits (which never expire), and the total available. If a payment fails, the page shows a Payment issue badge with an Update payment method button. Billing changes are confirmed by email: a welcome email when your subscription activates, a confirmation when a cancellation is scheduled, a welcome-back confirmation when a scheduled cancellation is removed and your plan resumes, and a notice when your plan ends. Purchases are confirmed by email too: buying pay-as-you-go credits sends a confirmation with the credits added and your new balance.

Cancelling your plan

Cancel from Settings, then Billing & Usage, using the Cancel plan button on your plan card. Before confirming, Binee shows exactly what happens: what you keep, and what you would be giving up (your plan's monthly credits compared to the free tier's 25; every feature keeps working on the free plan within that smaller allowance). You can optionally tell us why you are leaving. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period:

  • Your plan and its features stay active until the period end date.

  • Your remaining monthly credits stay usable until that date.

  • Extra (pay-as-you-go) credits are separate from your plan and never expire.

  • After the date there are no further charges: your workspace moves to the free plan and your data stays in place.

While a cancellation is scheduled, the billing page shows the end date and a Resume plan button. Resuming before the date undoes the cancellation and your plan continues as before, confirmed by a welcome-back email.

You cannot delete a workspace while a plan is attached to it, including a plan that is scheduled to cancel but has not reached its end date. Cancel your plan first from Settings, then Billing, or contact support to move it. This protects your plan's credits, which live on the workspace.

Refunds

  • Monthly plans are not refunded; cancellation stops the next charge instead.

  • Annual plans can be refunded by support within 30 days of purchase, per our terms.

  • Unused pay-as-you-go credits are refundable on request within 30 days of purchase.

To request a refund, contact support from Settings, then Help & support. The full policy is also shown on the billing page under Cancellation and refunds.
