Odoo connects from Settings, then Integrations, with a personal API key. The connection is per person: Binee reads Odoo with your own Odoo user's access rights, enforced by Odoo itself, so you see what your Odoo account can see and nothing more.
What Binee can do with Odoo
Ask about your sales pipeline in plain language: leads and opportunities, their stage, expected revenue, and deadlines, or ask for a pipeline summary by stage with counts and expected revenue totals.
Check sales orders and quotations, and look up customers by name or email.
See unpaid and overdue customer invoices with exactly how much is still owed, sortable by due date or amount. Vendor bills work too: ask what the business owes its suppliers and Binee lists the open bills with their amounts.
See your own open Odoo activities (the calls, meetings, and to-dos Odoo has assigned to you), with what is overdue first.
Combine Odoo with your other connected tools: for example, spot that a client asking for new work by email still has invoices sitting unpaid in Odoo.
Binee reads Odoo live at question time. Draft invoices and bills are not included in invoice answers: they cover posted documents only.
Making changes in Odoo from chat
Binee can also write to Odoo, always behind a confirmation card that shows exactly what will be created or changed before anything is written:
Add a note to a lead, customer, invoice, or order. Example: after a call, "add a note to the Acme lead that they want the rollout moved to March".
Create a new lead or opportunity, a new contact, or schedule a follow-up to-do with a deadline on a lead, customer, invoice, or order. Example: after spotting an overdue invoice, "schedule a payment chase on it for Friday".
Update a lead: move it to another pipeline stage, change its expected revenue, or move its expected closing date. Example: "move the Acme deal to Proposal and set expected revenue to 12,000".
Everything is created through your own Odoo access, so Odoo's own permissions still apply. Binee never deletes anything in Odoo and never creates or posts financial documents like invoices or bills.
Requirements
On Odoo Online (odoo.com hosting), API access requires Odoo's Custom pricing plan. Odoo's One App Free and Standard plans do not include API access, so connecting from those plans fails on Odoo's side. Self-hosted Odoo and Odoo.sh work on any plan.
Any Odoo user can create their own API key; no admin is needed.
Connecting
In Odoo, click your avatar in the top right, open My Profile (or Preferences), then the Account Security tab, and press New API Key.
Confirm your password, name the key (Binee works), pick a duration, and copy the key. Note the expiration date Odoo shows: on Odoo 18 and newer, keys last at most 3 months.
In Binee, open Settings, then Integrations, and press Connect on the Odoo card. Enter your Odoo address and login email, paste the key, and add the expiration date so Binee can remind you before it runs out. The form also has a "Database name" field: it usually fills in automatically, so only set it if your database is named differently from your address (common on self-hosted Odoo). Binee verifies everything with Odoo before saving, and stores the key encrypted.
Key expiry and reconnecting
Odoo API keys expire (at most 3 months on Odoo 18 and newer). The Odoo card and Binee in chat remind you before your key's expiration date arrives. When it does expire, the card says Reconnect needed: generate a fresh key in Odoo the same way as above and press Reconnect to paste it, which fixes the connection in one step. Automations that run on your Odoo connection show as needing attention on the Automations page until you reconnect.
Automations and dashboards
Watcher automations can watch your customer invoices going overdue. Example: "Flag invoices that go overdue with a large amount still unpaid, so the biggest balances get chased first." Insights land in your inbox, and in chat you can then put the flagged invoice next to your other tools, for example checking what that client last promised by email.
Dashboard cards can show your unpaid and overdue invoices and recent orders, read with your own connection at each refresh.
