Video tutorial: https://loom.com/share/205f01be678a41b09fce32a936a0d2da
Objective
This SOP explains how to update inventory for Biohack Lab using the batch-based method instead of editing the managed stock field directly. Follow these steps to add a new batch, update received quantity, and ensure the remaining inventory reflects the correct stock level.
Key Steps
1. Open the Product and Variation 0:11
Locate the product you need to update in Biohack Lab.
Click into the product record.
Open the Variation section.
Select the specific available variation you want to update.
2. Do Not Update Managed Stock Directly 0:22
Review the Managed Stock field, but do not use it to update inventory for Biohack Lab.
For this account, inventory is updated through batch information instead of the standard stock field.
Confirm you are in the correct variation before making changes.
3. Add a New Inventory Batch 0:32
Scroll to the batch section where previous batches are listed.
Verify older batches if needed; these may already show as unavailable or fully used.
Click to add a new batch for the latest inventory received.
4. Enter Batch Details 0:53
Enter the batch date using the current receipt date.
Example format used in the transcript: 2026 / July 28.
Enter the quantity received.
Example: 400 units.
Enter the unit cost.
Example: 250.
Double-check the values before saving.
5. Save the Batch Changes 1:19
Click Save to add the batch.
After saving, confirm the inventory total updates correctly.
The stock count should reflect the newly received quantity (for example, changing from 0 to 400).
6. Confirm Remaining Inventory 2:07
Review the Remaining field for the new batch.
Remaining inventory should match the quantity received if none has been sold yet.
Example: 400 remaining.
Use this field to track how much stock is still available from that batch.
7. Final Verification 2:17
Confirm the batch was added successfully.
Verify the inventory count now reflects the updated stock.
If the count does not update, recheck that the batch was saved correctly and that you edited the batch info rather than the managed stock field.
Cautionary Notes
Do not edit the Managed Stock field directly for Biohack Lab; inventory changes must be made through batch entries.
Make sure you are updating the correct product variation before saving changes.
Confirm the date, quantity received, and unit cost are accurate before saving.
If the batch is not saved, the inventory total will not update.
Ensure the Remaining value is correct after saving, especially if no units have been sold yet.
Tips for Efficiency
Keep the latest receiving information nearby before opening the product record.
Use a consistent date format when entering batch details.
Verify older batches first so you can quickly confirm whether the new batch is the only active stock.
After saving, immediately check the inventory total and remaining quantity to catch errors early.
Use the batch section as the single source of truth for Biohack Lab inventory updates.
