Please note: The following feature is available for all of Birdie’s packages.

Once the Care Recipient's profile has been created, you will have the option to invite their loved ones to view the care recipient's care notes on the Birdie app.

Here they will be able to see a read-only view of:

  • Care logs

  • Visit reports

  • Observations including completed tasks & medications

  • Concerns raised

  • Upcoming visits

  • Care plans & Assessments

  • About me information

There is no limit to the number of days covered, care circle members will be able to read care reports that have been written since your agency started using Birdie.

For futher information on the app please see this article- The Care Circle Birdie app for family & friends

Please note: If you do not see the above features on the family app please get in touch with your customer success manager directly as you may need to review your consent.

How to add a Care Circle member

  • Click on the Clients tab and select a care recipient

  • Click the Care circle tab on the left-hand side

  • Click + Create new care circle member

  • Add the name

  • The relationship to the Care Recipient

  • Contact number (please note, they cannot access the family app via an email address, they need a valid mobile number)

  • Email address

  • Whether to contact in an emergency

  • Whether they have Lasting power of attorney

Click Save & Continue when you have entered this information. Once they have been added, click Send invite to send a text, inviting the loved one to use the Birdie app.

Please note, if you have added the family member to the key contacts (NOK) section you do not have to add their details again to the care circle. You will, however, have to click Send invite if you would like to invite them to use the app.

How to add the same family member to more than one care circle

If you try to add a family member who already exists on Birdie you will see an alert come up like in the image below.

Birdie uses mobile numbers to authenticate the family app. This is why they need to be unique to each member. Luckily, We can add these for you!

Please get in touch with us using our support chat. You can find support by clicking on the green icon on the bottom left-hand side of the Agency Hub.

How to edit or remove a Care Circle member

If you need to remove someone from the care circle, Start by going to the care recipients' Care circle tab and selecting the person you would like to remove. From here click Remove.

From this page, you can also edit their information if needed.

They will no longer show as a NoK on the Birdie app or have access to the Care Circle app.
