What are network fees?

Updated over a month ago

Network fees (also known as gas fees) are charges paid to the blockchain network to process a transaction.

When you send cryptocurrency, the transaction must be verified and recorded on the blockchain by network participants. The network fee acts as an incentive for the network to process and confirm the transaction.

The fee amount may vary depending on factors such as:

• The blockchain network being used
• Current network activity
• The size of the transaction

These fees are not charged by BIX, but by the blockchain network itself.
