When a merchant processes a refund, the money is returned through the same payment path used for the original purchase. The refund is credited to your card and then reflected in your wallet.
Refund timing is determined by the merchant
The time it takes to receive a refund depends on the merchant. In most cases, refunds are completed within 3 to 10 business days after the merchant processes them.
If your refund is taking longer than expected, ask the merchant to confirm that the refund has been processed and request the processing date.
The exchange rate is based on the refund date
If the original purchase was made in a different currency, the refund is converted using the exchange rate in effect on the day the merchant processes the refund.
Because of this, the refunded amount may be slightly different from the original purchase amount.
If your refund never appears
If the merchant confirms the refund but it does not appear after the expected timeframe, or the merchant is unable to assist, you can submit a dispute from the settled transaction in the BIX app.
See How do I dispute a charge on my card? for instructions on how to start the dispute process.
