Fees depend on the type of transaction you make. Currency conversion fees and transaction fees work differently, and the exact amount is always displayed in the app before you confirm your payment.
Currency conversion
If you pay in a currency other than USD, a 1% currency conversion fee applies.
If the payment terminal offers you the option to pay in USD or the local currency, always choose the local currency. This usually provides a better exchange rate and a lower overall cost.
Do this: When shopping or traveling abroad, always select the local currency whenever the merchant gives you the option.
Transaction fee
Some card purchases may be subject to a transaction fee of up to 3%, depending on the type of transaction.
When applicable, the fee is calculated automatically and included in the final amount shown before you confirm your payment.
Fee reference
Before confirming any purchase, the app displays the final amount you will pay, including any applicable currency conversion or transaction fees.
This allows you to review the total cost before completing your payment.
