Use Store Credit as a Customer Order Deposit

Learn how to apply an existing Store Credit balance as a deposit on a Customer Order in Blackpurl.

This article explains how to apply a customer's available Store Credit as a deposit on a Customer Order. This is useful when a customer has an existing Store Credit balance and wants to put it toward a new order rather than receiving a refund.

Before You Start

The customer's record must already have a Store Credit balance before you can apply it as a deposit. If you need to add a Store Credit to a customer record first, see Store Credits on a Customer Record.

In this example, customer Catherine Price has a Store Credit of $400 available and wants to use it as a deposit on Customer Order 181 (CO181).

Steps

1. Navigate to the relevant Customer Order. For this example, open CO181, then click Add Deposit.

2. The Choose a Payment Method window opens. If the customer has a Store Credit balance, the available amount is displayed. Select Store Credit as the payment method, enter the amount of Store Credit you want to apply, and choose whether to apply it to a specific Deal Section or to the entire Customer Order. Click Confirm Deposit to proceed.
