The Notes section on a Vendor Order (VO) is a free-text field where your dealership can record internal comments or instructions related to the order. Notes print on the VO when you choose to print it, but are not included in any export file.
How the Notes Section Works
The Notes section behaves differently depending on the status of the Vendor Order:
Open VO: The Notes field is editable. Any user can type or update comments at any time while the VO is open.
Fully received VO: The Notes section locks automatically once the VO has been fully received. The last comment entered remains visible but can no longer be edited.
Notes and Printing
If you print the VO, anything typed in the Notes section will appear on the printed document. Review your notes before printing to make sure only intended content is included.
Notes and Exporting
Notes are not included in any VO export file. Use the Notes section for internal comments that your dealership needs to track on screen or in print — not for data you intend to export.
Finding the Notes Section on a VO
Open any Vendor Order and locate the Notes section on the VO screen. The field accepts free-text input and displays your saved comments each time you return to the order.
When you print the VO, the content of the Notes field appears on the printed document alongside the order details.
