Account Reconciliation Overview

A guide to the General Ledger control accounts you should reconcile regularly to keep your accounting package aligned with Blackpurl.

Account reconciliation ensures that the figures in your accounting package's General Ledger accounts match the figures in Blackpurl. These accounts are Blackpurl Control Accounts — Blackpurl manages them, and the figures in Blackpurl should always be treated as the source of truth.

Important Rules for Control Accounts

To avoid reconciliation issues and ensure Blackpurl Support can assist you if problems arise, follow these rules for all Control Accounts:

  • Never post entries manually or directly into your accounting package against any of these General Ledger accounts.

  • Never modify or delete a transaction or journal entry that was generated by the Blackpurl integration.

  • Never add additional transactions to these Control Accounts outside of Blackpurl.

If you modify, delete, or add transactions to these Control Accounts directly in your accounting package, Blackpurl Support will be unable to assist you with any discrepancies you find.
