Share a Custom Report in Blackpurl

Learn how to share a custom report with other users at your dealership, check who has access, and stop sharing when needed.

Custom reports you create in Blackpurl can be shared with other users at your dealership directly from the Reporting screen. This article explains how to share a custom report, see who it has been shared with, stop sharing it, and how shared reports appear for recipients.

Before You Start

You must have already created and saved a custom report before you can share it. Saved custom reports appear in the My custom and shared reports section of the Reporting screen. Only the owner of a custom report can share it or modify it.

Share a Custom Report

To share a custom report with one or more users at your dealership:

1. Go to the Reporting screen and locate your report in the My custom and shared reports section.

2. Click on the relevant report to select it, then open its dropdown menu and select Report Sharing.

Check Who You Have Shared a Report With

To see which users a custom report has been shared with, open the report's dropdown menu and select Report Sharing. The Report Sharing dialog will show a checkmark next to each user the report is currently shared with.


Stop Sharing a Report

To stop sharing a custom report with a user, open the report's dropdown menu and select Report Sharing. In the Report Sharing dialog, uncheck the box next to the user you no longer want to share the report with, then click Save.


How Shared Reports Appear for Recipients

When a report is shared with a user, it appears in their My custom and shared reports section under a Shared with me heading. The report name is shown along with the name of the user who shared it — for example, Part Inventory with Detail [Cathy Price].

Additional Information

  • A shared report can only be modified by its owner — the user who created it. If a recipient wants to modify a shared report, they must first save it as their own custom report.

  • Only the owner of a custom report can share it with other users.
