Please follow the following steps in order to setup your own Google Play Developer account. As soon as you have registered your account, contact your Blanco representative as we can then deploy our code into your developer account.
First of all, go to the following link: https://play.google.com/apps/publish/signup/
If you already have a Google account, then please login, or create a new account. Should you need to create a new account then follow the next steps, otherwise login and you can go to step 6.
2. Register your Google account by filling in the following details and click next:
3. You are then asked to link your phone number to your account for security reasons and for recovery in case you lost your login details. Once completed, please click next:
4. Google is now going to verify your phone number by sending a text message with a code. Once received, please enter the code in the designated field and click verify:
5. Finally, please confirm that you agree with the Terms and Conditions of Google and that they can process your data in accordance with their Privacy Policy. Finally, click on Create Account:
6. Once your Google Account has been setup and you are logged in you will get into the following screen. If you were already logged in with your Google Account, please check whether this is the correct Google Account that you would like to use for setting up your developer account. If not click on either "sign in with a different user" or on "create a new google account". If you click on the latter, then you must follow step 1 until 5 as explained above. If you are logged in with the correct account, please tick the box as shown below and click on "Continue to payment"
7. Fill in the details of your credit card in order to complete the payment process.
Once finished you should get the following message. Click on "proceed with registration".
8. Finally, you need to complete your account details by filling in the following fields.
9. Click complete registration and inform your Blanco representative that you have completed the setup for your organisations Google Play developer's account. The next steps will be to give access to Blanco employees to manage your app.
10. In order to give Blanco employees access to manage your app login to your Google Play account. You can login to your Google Play console by going to the following address: https://developer.android.com/distribute/console. You will see the following screen:
Please click on "Invite co-workers to the Play Console"
11. If you are still the only user on the account, then you will get a message stating that you are still the only user and that you can invite your co-workers. If you already added some colleagues then you will see the following
Please click on "invite new user" to add co-workers. As you can see, my account already has two co-workers.
12. Please invite the co-workers with the email addresses that you have received from your Blanco representative. It is important that Blanco has the role of "Administrator " in order to manage the app on your behalf and that the access never expires.
13. The Blanco representative will now receive an email with the notification that he/she has been added to your Google Play account.
14. In order for Blanco to also have programmatic access and service your account, you need to open up the access to the API and create a service account to which we will have access. This can only be done by the account owner, so even if you would give someone else admin access, they would not be able to do this for you. Therefore, from the screen you are on, please click on "API access" in the left menu under Developer Account.
15. Please accept the Google Play Android Developer API Terms and Conditions as shown below
16. Once accepted, you will reach the following screen. Please click on "Create new project"
17. You will now reach the following screen. Please click on "Create service account"
18. Please click on the link as shown below
19. You will now be redirected to your Google account that you created at the start of this setup. Please accept the "Terms of service" and select your country of residence. After that, please click on "Agree and continue"
20. Please click on "Create service account" as shown below
21. Please specify a name for your service account. I suggest to make this similar to your company name but could, in essence, be anything. Once done, please click "Create"
22. We now need to specify the permissions that will have access to this service account. There are a lot of roles in the list, please scroll to "Deployment manager" or just type this in the search bar
23. As you can see there are four roles for the deployment manager and we need to have all of them. This means that you would have to repeat this process 4 times. Below you will see the final result where 4 permission groups have been added to your service account. Once done, please click on "Continue"
24. From the next screen, please click on "Create key"
25. Please select "JSON" and click on "Create" as shown below
26. An access key has now been generated and saved to your computer. Most likely in your downloads folder. Please send this key to your Blanco representative
27. After clicking on close in the previous screen. Please click on "Done" as shown below
28. You can now go back to your Google Play Console (window should still be open) and click on "Done" as shown below
29. You can now see that the project you created in the beginning is linked to the service account you just created. You will see the different permission groups that you added as well. Last step to do is to grant your Blanco representative access to your API. Therefore, please click on "Grant access" as shown below
30. Please select the role "Release Manager" and click on "Add user" as shown below
31. You should now see that the API has been added as a user.
32. You have concluded the setup. Please inform your Blanco representative and please do not forget to send the JSON file across as this contains the password that we need to login to the API. Blanco will now proceed with deploying our software in your environment and will contact you should we need any further information. Great job!
