Change User Role and or Position

How to change user position and roles.

Introduction

In Blanket, there are Roles and there are Positions.

Roles dictate a user's level within the organization and often have pre-set permissions associated with that role. Within Blanket, we have four roles; Employee, Manager, and Owner.

Positions are nested under Roles. List are assigned to positions within Blanket. For example, an "Opening Server Checklist" would be assigned to the "Server." Users will need to be assigned the right positions in the system to see the checklists or audits that apply to that position.

Within a Role, you can have many positions; For example, a Manager Role could contain Shift Lead, Manager, GM, Executive Chef, etc. The same goes for Employees; Host, Cashier, Clerk, Cook, etc.

A single user can only have one role, and they can hold as many positions within that role level as needed. This is great for cross-trained users who do many jobs within their location. A person cannot be both a Manager role & an employee role at the same time.

Changing User Roles & Positions

Any Manager role can update user positions for anyone at their role or below them in the hierarchy of their team structure from the web.

  1. Login to your company dashboard. web.blanket.app

  2. On the left side navigation, go to MY TEAM, and select USERS.

  3. Search for the user’s name you’d like to edit. Click on their name and their profile will pop up.

  4. Use the Role & Position selectors to update any changes.

  5. Click Save.
