Shared Device Mode

One Tablet, your whole team. How to share the device easily.

Shared device mode allows a single location's entire team to share one mobile device. Once this is activated, the device will allow users to quickly toggle between each other (without signing in with verification codes), and complete their tasks for the day.

  • Only manager-level users can turn on or off Shared Device Mode.

  • The whole team sees ALL task lists for the day, including issues & actions.

  • Each user will remain logged in as long as they are active; logged out automatically after 30 idle minutes.

How To Turn On Shared Device Mode

If you are a Manager level user, open the mobile app on the intended shared device and log in with your account. Tap on More and then find Settings. Turn on the Shared Device; now this device has been activated.

If you are a multi-unit manager, it will ask you to select a location. Immediately, you will be logged out of your personal account and switched into shared device mode. You will see the stores feed with all tasks due.

Tap Press to Log In at the top to log in as a specific user, and select one to start.

Manager-level users will be prompted to enter a verification code from their email to ensure identity. Employee-level users will not.

Once in Shared Device Mode, the app works just like you're used to. Cards are task lists, open to start, and tasks are timestamped by the user as they are completed.

"I don't see my name in the Log In List"

Most likely, if you do not see a user's name, it means they have not activated their profile, which is another way to say- they have never logged into Blanket for the first time.

First thing, check if they were invited to the system. Go to the web portal, to My Team and search for this user. If the name is there, but the status shows "non-active," this confirms that they have never logged in even once. If the name is NOT coming up in your search, the user need to be invited to Blanket.

Next, return to Shared Device Mode Log-In Screen. Notice there is an option for " I don't see my name here" at the bottom. When tapped, it will bring you back to the Login Screen. The user whose name is missing should try to log in with their cell phone number. They will receive an SMS verification code to log in for the first time on shared device mode. They do not need Blanket on their personal device.

Turn OFF Shared Device Mode

If you are a Manager level user, log into your user profile in SDM. Tap on More and then find Settings. Turn off the Shared Device. The app will remain open and logged in as your personal account.
