All our plans come with theft insurance included, with a £250 excess payable directly by you to Blike in the event of a claim. If your bike gets stolen, you will need to report it to the police and to us, and open a claim with our insurance partner. The insurer will asses if the theft was not preventable. Once confirmed, we will order a new like-for-like bike replacement for you (subject to availability). While the claim and replacement order are being processed, we will provide you with a courtesy bike.

Note that our theft insurance covers bikes and Sold Secure Bicycle Gold or higher approved locks. It does not cover any floating bike accessories like Helmets.

Remember that in order to ensure that the insurer will be able to support a claim:

  • Theft from an enclosed premise must have involved forced entry/exit;

  • Theft from outside an enclosed premise, must have involved a bike that was fixed to an immovable object with a sold secure gold lock; and

  • The bike must not have been used for hire, reward or courier services

To protect our bikes from theft and to increase the chances of recovery, we register them all with Bike Register. Bike Register is the UK’s national, police approved, bicycle marking & registration scheme and is a useful resource for the police in an unfortunate event of bike loss.
