How to create an automatic Blockchain or Wallet Integration?

Updated over a month ago

To add a Blockchain or Wallet Integration that is supported by Blockpit, you need the basic public key (public wallet address) of your wallet.

💡 Please note that when using wallet service providers such as Ledger, Exodus and Ko. for certain blockchains (BTC, BCH, DOGE, LTC, ADA), a so-called Extended Public Key (public account address) may have to be used.

More examples of both address types at the end of the following steps.

Adding an automatic Blockchain/Wallet Integration

  1. In order to enter your data, you must first create an Integration.
To do so, click the top menu item on +Integration.

  2. You can choose between Blockchain, Wallet, Exchange and Manual Integrations.

  3. Select a Blockchain or Wallet Service Provider from the list.

  4. Now enter a Name for your integration and a direct public wallet address (Legacy, Bech32, Segwit, ERC20) or public account address (Ledger, Trezor, Exodus, and others).

Tip: Keep “First Transaction” (Full History) as the default start date. Selecting a specific start date only makes sense if you want to add transactions that are before the start date manually.

  5. You can let Blockpit check if your address is part of the EVM network (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and therefore active on different blockchains of this network by keeping the following advanced settings and confirming with Continue.

If your address is EVM enabled, you can now select those active blockchains that you want to import as a standalone wallet integration, as shown below.

  6. To finish, click Continue so that your wallet(s), asset balances and transactions are automatically imported.

💡 When creating Multi-Wallet Integrations such as Trezor, Ledger and Co., it is possible to add more blockchains (wallets) step by step. All your wallets will be grouped in one folder.

Existing or future Integrations can also be added to this folder at a later time.

When is the basic Public Keys (public wallet address) used?

Public Keys (public wallet addresses) are used by all blockchains:

Your public wallet address can be used to track your holdings (asset balance) and the associated transaction history. A public wallet address is often referred to as a paper wallet or public key.

Example of a Bitcoin paper wallet address:
34MpgrLDLbBTp9XY12FZKMEj33Jvrk7djs (Begins with "1", "3" or "bc1")

Example of a Ethereum paper wallet address:
0x1b073382e63411e3bcffe90ac1b9a43fefa1ec6f (Begins with 0x)

When is the Extended Public Keys (public account address) used?

Extended Public Keys (public account addresses) are only used by certain blockchains:

In addition to public wallet addresses (Public Keys), there are so-called public account addresses (Extended Public Keys), which are primarily used by wallet providers such as Ledger, Exodus, BitBox and others to combine several sub-wallets (Public Keys) in your account (HD wallets).

How to add a Bitcoin Integration using an Extended Account Address [xpub]?

Example of an Extended Bitcoin Account Address: xpub6BosfCnifzxcFwrSzQiqu2DBVTshkCXacvNsWGYJVVhhawA7d4R5WSWGFNbi8Aw6ZRc1brxMyWMzG3DSSSSoekkudhUd9yLb6qx39T9nMdj (Begins with "xpub", "ypub" or "zpub")

How to add a Bitcoin Integration using an extended Taproot Account Address [tr(xpub)]?

Example of an Extended Bitcoin Taproot Account Address:

tr(xpub6BosfCnifzxcFwrSzQiqu2DBVTshkCXacvNsWGYJVVhhawA7d4R5WSWGFNbi8Aw6ZRc1brxMyWMzG3DSSSSoekkudhUd9yLb6qx39T9nMdj)

If the integration using xpub keys does not work, you can change the prefix of the xpub key to ypub or zpub as shown above and try again.

> Example: How to determine the correct Bitcoin xpub key for my ledger integration?

Dogecoin (DOGE) works analogously with the abbreviation dgub as a substitute for the xpub used for Bitcoin.

Litecoin (LTC) works analogously with the abbreviations Ltub, Mtub and zpub as a substitute for the xpub, ypub and zpub prefixes used for Bitcoin.

Cardano (ADA)works analogously with the abbreviations acct_ (Daedalus), xpub (Shally Era) or 128+ character Hex-Keys (Yoroi).
