Account Health: Identify and Resolve Issues (Tips) in One Place

With Account Health, you can identify, prioritize, and resolve discrepancies in your transaction data in a single, centralized workspace.

The page consolidates all Blockpit warnings and issues into one view. You no longer need to manually dig through individual integrations or endless transaction lists to locate data gaps.

💡 Good to know: Existing workflows remain available. You can still review and resolve issues directly on the Transactions page or the Dashboard. Account Health enhances this with a centralized overview and guided troubleshooting flows.

What is displayed on the Account Health page?

On this page, you will see your current Account Health Score along with all open issues detected across your imported data.

  • Dynamic Display: Only categories and resolution dialogs relevant to your account are shown. (Example: If no balance discrepancies are detected, this section is completely hidden.)

  • Account Health Score: Reflects the overall integrity of your tax and transaction data at a glance.

  • Impact Score (⚡): Indicates how significantly a specific issue affects your overall Account Health Score—ideal for prioritizing your workflow.

In which order should you resolve issues?

Account Health automatically arranges detected issues by technical priority.

⚠️ The Root Cause Principle (Cascade Effect):

Work through the displayed categories from top to bottom (or left to right).

An issue occurring early in your history (e.g., a missing deposit from 2021) often triggers downstream errors (e.g., negative balances or discrepancies in 2023). Fixing the root cause will automatically resolve many dependent issues once recalculation completes.

Within any category, sort by the highest Impact Score (⚡) first.

Identifying Issues & Step-by-Step UI Actions

1. API Re-authentication

Appears when the automatic synchronization with an exchange or wallet is interrupted (e.g., expired API keys, updated security requirements, changed permissions).

Action Flow:

  1. Click Update / Reconnect directly on the issue notice (or click the key/sync icon on the affected integration).

  2. Enter your newly created API credentials or confirm OAuth re-authentication.

  3. Trigger a sync—new transactions will import automatically.

2. Missing History (Negative Balances & Ledger Corrections)

Appears when more of an asset was sold, spent, or withdrawn than was previously available in your transaction history.

Action Flow & Investigation:

  1. Click Review in Ledger within the issue dialog to open the chronological asset balance timeline.

  2. Scroll to the timestamp where the calculated balance turns red / negative for the first time.

  3. Check for missing historical deposits, unimported trades, or internal transfers from earlier years.

UI Solution (Auto-Correction via + Symbol):

  • If the root cause cannot be reconstructed from original platform records, click the + icon directly at the breaking point in the Ledger to create an Auto-Correction Transaction.

  • This balances your holdings from that exact timestamp onward without distorting previous tax years.

3. Balance Discrepancy (Synced vs. Calculated)

Appears when the balance reported via API does not match the balance calculated from your transaction history in Blockpit.

Action Flow & Best Practice:

  1. Always check for open Missing History warnings first (resolve those beforehand!).

  2. Click Match Balance only if all transactions are complete and the difference is due to untracked staking rewards, minor dust, or rounding differences.

  3. Follow the guided flow to align the calculated balance with the live synced balance.

💡 Tip: A manual balance adjustment should never be your first step—always look for missing or duplicate transactions first.

4. Labeling & Unmerged Transfers (Bulk Actions)

Appears for unclassified deposits/withdrawals or internal transfers between your own wallets/exchanges that were not linked automatically.

Single Transaction (Quick Menu):

  • Click the on the label field in the transaction row to classify it as Gift, Airdrop, Staking, Fee, etc. or on the arrow down symbol next to it if you want to apply Trade, Transfer, Trade or Token Migration labels fast.

  • If outgoing and incoming legs of a transfer exist separately, select both via checkbox and choose Merge Transactions.

Bulk Labeling (Mass Editing):

  1. Use the Filters at the top (filter by Integration, Asset, or status Unlabeled).

  2. Tick the checkboxes next to the affected transactions (or select Select All at the top).

  3. Use the bulk action bar to apply labels to dozens of transactions in one click (e.g., labeling daily earn rewards as Staking).

5. Missing Value (Pricing Issues)

Appears when a historical market price could not be automatically determined for an exotic token, LP token, NFT, or older trade.

Action Flow:

  1. Click Add Value next to the affected transaction.

  2. Enter either the Unit Price or the Total Fiat Value at the exact time of the transaction.

  3. Retrieve historical price benchmarks from your exchange trade history, contract explorers, or price aggregators (e.g., CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap).

What about other Blockpit Issues (Tips)?

Account Health is not limited to the core cases listed above.

Guided resolution paths are available for all other Blockpit warnings as well. The categories displayed dynamically match the specific state of your account. When another issue (Tip) appears, simply open its dedicated flow directly on the page.

🔄 Important: Recalculation for Accurate Tax & Performance Data

After resolving issues, labeling transactions, merging transfers, or creating auto-corrections, your data must be recalculated.

⚠️ Impact on Capital Gains, Losses & Tax Reports:

Any changes to your transactions directly affect acquisition costs (Cost Basis), holding periods, and realized gains/losses.

  • Look out for the Recalculation Banner / Loading Indicator at the top of your screen.

  • Your Account Health Score, Tax Report, and Performance Dashboards will only reflect accurate data once recalculation is fully complete.

  • Resolved warnings and downstream errors will clear from your view upon completion of this process.

Summary

  • Centralized: All relevant data issues managed in one unified workspace.

  • Dynamic: Displays only categories and dialogs with active issues in your account.

  • Prioritized: Always work top to bottom (root causes before symptoms) and sort by Impact Score (⚡).

  • Finalize: Always allow recalculation to complete after applying fixes or ledger auto-corrections (+).
