“Turf”is a word that Blocks uses to track the relationship between different organizations and offices. Every user and canvasser is assigned to a turf. That turf is important for organizing reporting and access to Blocks. 

Turf is hierarchical. That means that higher layers have access to all data from lower levels, but lower levels do not have access to data from higher levels. 

The turf system is flexible and it is possible to construct more complicated turf structures, but in most cases that won’t be necessary.
