Blocks comes with established recommended turf levels. Turf levels are set categories that Blocks uses to build reports in a standardized way. It is possible to create new custom turf levels but that should not be necessary in most cases.

Parent Turf and Turf Hierarchy

When creating a turf you are required to select a parent turf, which is the turf immediately above. Users assigned to the selected parent turf can access all data associated with the turf below.

It is also possible to change the turf relationships on the ‘View Turf’ section of the admin menu by dragging and dropping. If you click and hold on the icon with three lines for a given turf, you can drag the turf to another position in the turf hierarchy. All sub-turf will be selected in addition to the primary turf. A blue box will appear that indicates the new position of the turf.

Any turf can be set to be the parent of any other turf. The important factor to consider is that the parent turf will have access to all the data of the turf underneath. It is possible, for example, to have one office underneath another office. This would make sense in a situation where cards at one office are taken to a different office for storage and quality control.
